Keisha made friends with everyone. She loved the infirm, disabled, and not so attractive people, making all feel whole and beautiful. She was ill from birth, but this did not stop her from caring about others. She was diagnosed with asthma at the age of 15 months, and she was very ill. She spent the first 8 years of her life in and out of hospitals. But through it all, she managed to make friends and make everyone who knew her love her. The year she died, she had not been sick once. I am happy about that. But you know what, I always knew deep down inside that she was not mine for long. We made very moment count. I am very proud I had a chance to have a living angel in my life. When she died, people came to her funeral by the bus load. People I did not know she knew. They were every shape size, color. Though I miss her desparately, yes even to this day, almost 18 years later, she is still strong in my life, and I hope I make her proud that I was her mom. Keisha has 2 trees in Israel dedicated to her name. These were from good friends of mine. Her memory will live on in all that knew her. Keisha liked all kinds of music, even Rap, though I was not too happy about this. But, I allowed the kids to express their artistic pursuits. Favorite toys-an old Teddy bear that used to belong to Michael, and Wrinkles. I still have some of her Barbie dolls. She liked the dolls in all colors. It did not matter to her. Halloween 1989 Keisha was a fairy tale princess. i don't have the pictures, but she was so beautiful, I cried when I saw her. She was saying goodbye to us, I realize now, beacause her voice became sweeter to hear, and ahe left little love notes to her Grandma and myself, her mother. I am happy she is with God.
